- Ionizer- An ionizer is a little different than other chlorine alternatives. When used, it releases two different types of metals, typically silver and copper, through low voltage currents. When these currents hit the water, algae and bacteria are attracted together and are then carried through your pool’s filtration device.
- Ozonator- There are two different forms of this choice of chlorine alternative. Choose either a corona discharge or ultraviolet light system to attach to your filter line of your pool. The ozone gas that is then released into your pool will then react with the different debris in your water, sending them through your filtration system.
- PHMB- This chemical compound attacks the cell walls of the bacteria found in your pool. Once the bacteria is only a cluster of particles, the chemical compound attaches itself to them in a gel that can then be removed using a vacuum.
